Afterwards, we saw The Lucky One. Let me preface this by saying that I’m not a big fan of Zac Efron. Yes, he’s quite pretty (and more muscular since HSM — which I proudly have never seen) but he’s always the same — brooding and tearful. I don’t know, he’s almost too picture perfect. And this movie, is a whole lotta pretty — even the war scenes have a glow. It’s pure Nicholas Sparks cheese and romance. You should be kissed, every day, every hour, every minute … (side note, Will Fetters who wrote Remember Me, is the screenwriter — Will has a way with words). It was good, don’t get me wrong. But I found myself thinking more about how the production set designer made each scene impeccably gorgeous (mosquito net canopy bed, c’mon!) and how I loved every piece of clothing Beth wore. Is that wrong? Still, it was nice movie and wrapped up a lovely, laid back evening.
