Jen & Dawn | Graduation

Never let it be said that to dream is a waste of one’s time. For dreams are our realities in waiting. In dreams, we plant the seeds of our future.

Meet Dawn and Jen. Two dreamers, who happen to be sisters, ready to graduate from higher education.

Getting to know DAWN:

Describe yourself in three words. Smart, perfectionist, horrible speller 

Where are you graduating from? Lincoln University 

What did you study? Accounting with a minor in Math

What is your best memory from Lincoln University? Walking down the hill for the last time.

If you learned one thing, it was – Stick to something all the way to the end.

If you could choose your dream job, what would it be? Running numbers for a company.

Getting to know JEN:

Describe yourself in three words. Meticulous. Hardworking. Spontaneous/fun.

Where are you graduating from? University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou)

What did you study? Graphic Design

What is your best memory from Mizzou? 

Working with my classmates/friends until the wee hours of the morning in our design lab to perfect our designs for projects (putting in hard work pays off later!) and having the best group of professors and classmates who have become my second family through thick and thin. As well as just the pride of the university/student body. Mizzou was my dream school, and it’s a wonderful feeling knowing I have successfully accomplished one of my major life goals.

If you learned one thing, it was –

Never think you’re incapable of doing something. This was the most physically, mentally, and emotionally draining semester of my college career, but through a few all-nighters, commuting 70 miles a day and using every second of the day that I had, I made it through everything, and boy was it worth it. You reap what you sow in every element of life.

If you could choose your dream job, what would it be?

This question... Again, ha! I want a dream job that allows me to reach outside my comfort zone and grow as a designer,  something that allows me to work outside the typical box, something that let’s me travel, has good hours, pay, and benefits, but also gives me a great group of coworkers and a great work environment. I don’t have any one specific company or firm in mind (at the moment!). I want to be successful at whatever it is that I do, and all I can ask for right now is a job that allows me do that and be happy wherever I am at. 

If Jen looks familiar, I took photos of her a couple years ago when JEN was a budding graphic designer. I love meeting other creative people, especially gregarious ones who laugh easily and will always say YES to hibachi grill. ;)
