flu | films | friday

I’ve been nursing a flu these last few days and SHE has not left my side. She is LOVE.

I have not written any film reviews in awhile and not because I haven’t been watching. I’ve seen some very good movies, as Oscar has given a few of them nods — Silver Linings Playbook {seriously, who does NOT love Jennifer Lawrence right now}, Argo {anything involving Affleck and Clooney is a win win in my book}, Side Effects {Rooney Mara is another actress that floors me and thank God, Jude Law is back in a watchable movie! Oh and for those of you who loved Channing Tatum in Magic Mike for all the wrong reasons, his few minutes in this film are so raw rare. wink.}. I digress.
As someone who has barely left her bed except to get her fill of meds and jugs of Sunny D, I have to say, Redbox and Hulu are my new best friends.
End of Watch. A total guys movie so I’m surprised I liked it. Testosterone Jake G. and that Twilight chick are in it. No, the cool one {Anna Kendrick doing the cups}.
Pitch Perfect. You want a cute musical, go watch. That Twilight chick is in it (see above).
And now my two favorites … quite possibly my favorites of 2012 but not in commercial theaters:
The Intouchables. You cannot watch this without feeling pretty wonderful after.
Robot and Frank. I really enjoyed this movie for its subtle humor and family theme. Frank Langella is fantastic. Man oh man, could I use one of those robots right now!
Don’t bother renting The Paper Boy. Nicole Kidman gets her freak on. As does, Matthew McConaughey. And oh man, Jon Cusack is a super, mega-freak — I want to remember him as that boy holding the boom box in Say Anything. Zac Efron is in this too, rain dancing in his skivvies. Enough said.
If you have any good films to add to my watch list, let me know! That's a wrap.
