Xi’an | China

The creatures that inhabit this earth-be they human beings or animals-are here to contribute, each in its own particular way, to the beauty and prosperity of the world. — Dalai Lama
We took a bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai, then a few days later, a flight to Xi’an. Xi’an is a smoggy, grey city — the home to the “8th Wonder of the World” — the Terracotta Army.

May 31, 2014 | Pit one — seeing the Terracotta Army for the first time. Mind blown.

June 1, 2014 | Xi’an City Walls
June 1, 2014 | I rented a bike and rode 7 miles (walked 2) around the Xi’an City Walls

Not all those who wander are lost. But in this case, I WAS. I returned my bike one station too early and ended up WALKING two, HOT miles. Not a happy wanderer!

We waited for over an hour to see the fountain show, along with a million several Chinese people. Overrated.
