I had been corresponding back and forth with Jeanette (Heather’s mom) and Heather about her photo session. We rescheduled last week when it turned cold (low 40s) with blustery wind. Not the kind of wind that creates beautiful, flowing hair. But today, it was all warm (70s!) and sunshine. That’s December in Missouri.

When I met Heather, her mom, and friend, Taylor, I knew it was going to be a fun shoot. Heather was full of energy and enthusiasm -- she just rocked her session. I love how her personality just shone through – from her matching Cheetah gear to the hot pink shorts.

{Yes, it was worth laying down in the dirty alley to get one of my favorite shots!}

Keep Calm and Shoot On

It was a cold 50 degrees but Ryan was perfectly fine in a t-shirt. This guy is so nice and laid back — which made for a very calm shoot. I worried about the sun going down so early, but as we trekked over to our favorite fields, we caught the best light. I may have been a bit excited about the sun and natural elements all coming together.

Speaking of natural ... oh yeah, check out those baby blues. A shout out to Matt (venture partner and driver-extraordinaire) and RYAN — this was one of the easiest shoots I’ve done, THANK YOU!

Giving thanks

I count among my many blessings, my family. When Beau asked me if I would take pictures of her during the holiday, she probably didn’t think I would drag her out early in the morning to greet the sunrise. But I did {we’re both not morning people}. However, it was a BEAU-tiful morning.

In the home front, Chef Matt was cooking up a little feast. This year, he forgo the turkey fryer to try out his holiday-clearance-roaster ($15!). It was delicious!

This gal is as sweet as pie and makes me laugh. And laugh. And laugh. We almost didn’t finish the shoot! I met Jen at my favorite coffee shop so she could try the ridiculously good mushroom turnovers while I drank a hot latte before we braved the cold. Yes, it was windy and COLD. But we were too busy laughing to notice.

 

Our conversations usually end like this:

Ren: Oh Jennnnnn

country life

The leaves are almost all gone but there was still a bit of color and blue skies. We could have not asked for a nicer day when M and I went to the country side to take photos of Amanda and her gorgeous family.
